“Portraits of Dementia” Class

The Charles H. MacNider Art Museum is pleased to announce a free class affiliated with its most recent traveling exhibition: Portraits of Dementia. This photographic exhibition is now on display and will remain open through August 16, 2024.  This exhibition is sponsored locally by the Mason City Clinic Charitable Giving Fund and is a Program of ExhibitsUSA, a national division of Mid-America Arts Alliance and The National Endowment for the Arts.

Class example

A special class will be offered for those diagnosed with dementia as well as their caregivers.  During this one-hour class participants will work together to create a portrait using collage materials.  The class is offered on two dates:  Wednesday, July 24 at 10 am, and Thursday, July 25 at 5:30 pm.  Caregivers are required to attend and participate in the project with the patient.  Those wishing to attend may call 641-421-3666 to enroll in the class.  This is a one-day class. Please only register for one date, the project will be the same for each class.
