Best in Show award winner Rebecca Kemble of West Des Moines, Honey Bee – Here Today, Gone Tomorrow, Fiber – Painted, Stitched

Rebecca Kemble of West Des Moines won Best in Show during the Iowa Crafts: 47 exhibition in 2025 for her fiber work, Honey Bee – Here Today, Gone Tomorrow.  As prize for her win, she was awarded a solo exhibition in the Museum’s Center Space Gallery in 2026.  Rebecca Kemble: Artist features fabric works along with paintings and drawings by the artist.

“I enjoy the tactile feel of fabric; but I also enjoy adding paint and/or other embellishments to create even more texture, depth and movement. At the heart of it all is stitch, which, as an additional line element creates continuity throughout my work.”

Please join the Museum in honoring Kemble’s solo exhibition on Saturday, July 25 from 1 – 2:30 p.m. with an artist reception.  This reception is free and open to the public.  Light refreshments will be served.
