Kinney-Lindstrom Gallery
August 1 – October 1, 2025

Annick Ibsen, The Beginning of Everything is now open in the Charles H. MacNider Art Museum’s Kinney-Lindstrom Gallery.
Annick Ibsen investigates subject matter through sculpture and printmaking-in that order. She projects her ideas in three dimensions to find the freedom and movement that printmaking offers via juxtaposing and superimposing elements within her compositions. With her 3D works, she aims to expose how sculpture is often a meeting point for art, design, and painting. While sculpture arrests movement, printmaking allows her to capture forms and line present in the negative space.
Born in Paris, Ibsen settled in Des Moines 20 years ago. She is currently undertaking a Master of Fine Arts at Maharishi International University.
Annick Ibsen is a Des Moines based sculptor and painter. Originally from France, Annick moved to Des Moines in 2003 and has lived and created in Iowa since then. Beginning her artistic career as a painter, she fell in love with sculpture and chose clay as her medium. She now shows both paintings and ceramic sculpture together and lets these two mediums complement each other.
The Beginning of Everything is sponsored locally by the Hanson Family Foundation. It will be on display in the Charles H. MacNider Art Museum’s Kinney-Lindstrom Gallery through Wednesday, October 1. Please join the Museum in welcoming the artist to an opening reception and artist talk on Saturday, August 2 beginning at 3:30 p.m. This reception is free and open to the public.
