Please submit up to two images of each entered artwork. You can send JPG images by e-mail to email@example.com. Please include the title of the artwork with each JPG.
Terms and conditions
ELIGIBILITY: All artists above high school age living in a 100-mile radius of Mason City.
DATES: April 5 – June 19, 2024
ENTRIES: A total of two (2) entries may be submitted by each artist in the form of small jpegs
(1 MB per image maximum to firstname.lastname@example.org). Jpegs can be e-mailed, burned to a CD or put on a Flash Drive. If e-mailing entries, please send in your signed entry form by mail or e-mail or fill out the online entry form available at macniderart.org/entry-forms/. All works are to be original, by the entering artist, completed since January 2022, and not previously entered into the MacNider Area Show. Do not submit the actual artwork for jury. Postmarked date for entries by mail or e-mail is Friday, February 24, 2024. All accepted artwork must be ready to exhibit.
NOTIFICATION OF ACCEPTANCE: All artists with artworks accepted into the Area Show will be notified by e-mail. Artists without e-mail should note this on the entry form—they will be notified by mail.
DELIVERY: All accepted entries can either be sent or hand-delivered to the Museum. Accepted works must be delivered to the museum no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, March 29, 2024. All exhibited work may be picked up during regular museum hours starting Saturday, June 22, 2024. All hand-delivered entries must be picked up by Wednesday, July 31, 2024. Work left after this date will be disposed of at the discretion of the Museum. Cost of all shipping will be borne by entrant.
INSURANCE: Extreme care will be exercised in handling entries. However, the Charles H. MacNider Art Museum cannot assume liability for accidents in shipping or handling. The insuring of works in transit will be left to the discretion and responsibility of the individual artists. While in Museum possession, articles will be insured.
AWARDS: Totaling $1,000 – At the discretion of the juror: Best In Show Award – Solo Exhibition in opening in 2025; 3 Excellence Awards – Each $250; 2 Merit Awards – Each $100; Most Daring Award – $50. An artists’ reception will be held on Saturday, April 20, beginning at 11 a.m. Awards will be presented at 11:30 a.m.
SALES: All works must be priced for sale or NFS (not for sale). A 40% commission on sales will be retained by the Museum.
NOTE: The exhibitor, by signing the entry form, agrees to all the aforementioned conditions of entry. No entry will be accepted without a signed entry form.
